WINES: PORTUGAL SHINES ON THE COVER OF “WINE SPECTATOR”
Wine-growing Portugal is the star of the July edition of the prestigious American magazine Wine Spectator. The publication dedicated the cover – illustrated with a landscape of the Douro with a rabelo boat and the Ribeira do Porto – to the future of what it describes as “one of the most dynamic wine producing nations in the world”. According to Wine Spectator, “change is sweeping this historic nation, with renovated quintas and a new generation of producers competing and collaborating” along “stunning stretches of land” where wines are made from “fantastic” grape varieties and viticultural techniques that blend tradition and modernity.
